I'm a bad, bad blogger

Another month, another blog entry. Oh, and another city! Just two weeks ago, I moved down to San Francisco and it has been all sorts of excellent. Coincidentally, one of my favorite ladies from high school, Melissa, also moved down here shortly after I did and I couldn't be happier! We've been tearing up, chowing down, running around, getting lost, and charming the locals... but mostly eating.

I've met a bunch of new, lovely friends so far and this past week, especially, I've been meeting a ton of nerds, all thanks to James*. Everyone in this town is super nice. Even a bum told me my smile "brings the sun"!

I really ought to work on taking more pictures here, but lugging around my purse and oftentimes a yoga mat is usually cumbersome enough. Tomorrow is a new day and although it's not going to be so beautiful out, I'll be leaving my mat at home.

Superblog Sunday (has nothing to do with football)

It's been two months since my last update and three weeks since I've left Seoul. I can't even say things have been hectic as I've been massively unemployed for a while now. I was even practically handed a job last week, but I didn't even show up to the interview because my aunt called the day before and asked me to move to San Francisco and in with her. I agreed without a second thought. My therapist calls me "impulsive".

I probably only know about five people in San Francisco and have only visited a small handful of times. My decision was still pretty easy because I don't have much to re-pack, free rent, public transportation, and now I got a brand new city to defile.

Before I head down there, I'm making plans to make a stop down in Los Angeles for a few days to visit some old friends. Following that, there's a chance I may finally be getting a tonsillectomy. They've been giving me hell for years. If I'm (hopefully) approved for it, I'll head down to start my new life after I'm all recovered.

A lot on my plate

Things have been pretty hectic with me leaving Korea in a month. Everyone's calling to meet up in a frantic hurry to get projects done or just plain ol' enjoy my company. I can't really complain, but several of my own projects are on hold now too.

Here is a preview of one of the things I did with Romin, Dylan, and Ryan last week in the bitter, bitter cold. More to come as I get them.





There are a few art things I am itching to post here, but can't yet (as they have yet to reach their intended homes). Hopefully soon, though. I am awfully impatient, but simultaneously lazy, which makes not blogging pretty easy. So, in the meantime, enjoy some more photos.



Nick has a handsome face. Usually. I do have a whole roll of hilariously unflattering pictures of him attempting to make "ladies of pron" O-faces that the Internet will sadly never see. Jeff* shot a video of it, but didn't hit record.







Anyway, my Chinese food has arrived, I have Louis CK's Live at the Beacon Theater to watch, and I have nothing more to say, so this ends now. Annyong**!

Goodbye, Sodapop Curtis

As I'm approaching the end to the Korean chapter in my life, I have many things to wrap up here. The hardest of them all are my relationships. One of my closest companions here has been my sweet little bunny, Sodapop, who has never failed to brighten even the gloomiest of days.

There are a number reasons why he can't come with me on my next stage in life (largely because I still don't know what it is), but I am thankful to have already found him a loving home with a good friend of mine, her husband, and a new Collie companion.

My heart just shatters when I look at these pictures, but here are some of the last that I've taken of my special little guy on our last day together.

The November round-up

As we say goodbye to November, I've rounded up some miscellaneous photos that haven't been posted yet.



There is a cafe in the Hongdae area of Seoul that is home to two cute little sheep. They are super friendly and so, so soft.







A few weeks ago, Grey played some excellent tunes over at the Local in Noksapyeong. Such a snazzy dresser, too!





I mentioned long ago that my old high school buddy, Joa, came to town. I let her do most of the picture taking, but here she is having breakfast with me at my favorite dining establishment in the city, Butterfinger Pancakes.



David is good with his hands. Really! He not only dazzles and delights fellow subway passengers while waiting for the train, but he has also been getting me to haul my lazy ass up climbing walls lately. Not sure if it'll become a full-time hobby, but it is quite fun.



The Seoul Lantern Festival is a big clusterfuck on opening night, which is exactly when we went. Couldn't even make it down to the stream because of the massive hoardes, but I wound up back there while on a walk a week later during daylight.





This is my mother. Isn't she beautiful? She would kill me if she knew I posted her picture on the Internet without Photoshopping out her "wrinkles".


Lately, I've been taking advantage of my "funemployment" in a more productive way. I've been making more art and very soon I'll be making it available to you*! So, as the holiday season approaches, please consider opening your hearts** to a financially depressed girl. Keep an eye on the blog this week as I post more details.

Taste the Kimchibilly!

Ah, film. As much as I love it, pictures never quite come back as timely as I would like. These pictures were from a concert I attended about a week and a half ago. The band is a Korean rockabilly* group called the Rock Tigers and they put on one hell of a show.





















Also, in some awesome news, according to Blogger's stat analytics, my sadly neglected blog is now nearing 22k hits! That is pretty nuts. Sure, I know exactly where the surge in viewership came from**, but it's nice to know that people keep coming back anyway.

Tomorrow, by Korean time, will be Thanksgiving and my GravyQuest has been derailed due to lack of planning. However, some coordination on my more domestic friends' part has ensured me a proper meal on Saturday and I'll be giving 'kamsahamnida's and breaking 'bbang' with many of my favorite expatriates.
